What do you need to become a driver?
- Your own vehicle (Non branded)
- South African ID or Passport with valid working VISA
- Drivers license /PDP
- Half Ton vehicles generally dont require PDP unless exceeding 3 500kg of total vehicle weight.
- 1 Ton+ will require a PDP
- Goods in transit(GIT) insurance
- (Bakkies,Panel Vans,Mini Trucks)
- Payable to WAYTO, one month in advance
- Proof of residence
- Bank confirmation letter
- Valid vehicle insurance
- Vehicle registration (RC1) or a Valid Owner/Bank finance letter /Driver agreement if you are not the owner of the vehicle
- Clear criminal record
Vehicles Requirements
- Only non branded vehicles will be accepted
- If renting a vehicle from owner, a valid agreement from owner supported by affidavit and owners ID

- Motor Cycles with carrier box
- Small panel van (Carrying capacity 500KG)
- Large panel van (Carrying capacity 1,5T)
- Small bakkie (Carrying capacity 500KG)
- Large bakkie (Carrying capacity 1T)
- 2T Truck
Steps to register as a driver
Upload the following documents onto Driver APP:
Personal
- South African ID/Valid work VISA with passport
- Photo of driver
- Valid drivers license with /PDP
- Proof of residence
- Bank confirmation letter
Vehicle
- Vehicle license disk
- Picture of vehicle
- Vehicle registration (RC1)
- Owner-Driver Agreement (If applicable) Click to download agreement
After upload of documents:
- Once WAYTO has successfully received your documents, and verified, you will receive an SMS to proceed to get your vehicle inspected.
- Inspection of vehicle and verification of original documents to be done at any AA DEKRA testing station, nation wide.
- The cost of inspection and verification of documents is R299.00 VAT inclusive.
- On successful verification of vehicle and documents by AA, you will receive an SMS from WAYTO within seven working days of your activation on the WAYTO driver App.
